Joining Pixar Animation Studios in 2011 as a storyboard artist, she quickly made her mark, contributing to movies like Inside Out and Toy Story 4. Her talent and dedication led her to pitch her own ideas, culminating in the Academy Award-winning short film, Bao, marking a historic milestone for women in animation.

In 2022, Domee directed her first feature film with Turning Red, a heartfelt coming-of-age story that resonated with audiences worldwide. With Turning Red, Domee continued to push boundaries, showcasing her visionary storytelling and commitment to authentic representation, embodying the spirit of International Women’s Day.
