Exhibitions and Collections

One of the main draws of the McCord Stewart Museum is their impressive permanent exhibition.

Indigenous Voices of Today: Knowledge, Trauma, Resilience

This exhibition combines the stories from members of Indigenous nations in Quebec with one hundred objects in the Museum’s collection. As you move through the exhibition, you will learn about the suffering experienced by these community members, as well as their hopes for the future.

In addition to its permanent exhibitions, the McCord Stewart Museum often hosts captivating temporary exhibits. These exhibitions cover a range of topics and will surely show you something new each time you visit the Museum.

Becoming Montreal (On display until April 2024)

This is just one example of their temporary exhibitions and shines a light on an artist who painted Montreal across five decades showing the city’s development throughout the 19th century. You will be able to see from each painting how the modern Montreal that we know today came to be.

The Museum is located at 690 Sherbrooke Street West, making it easily accessible for anyone in the downtown area. You can easily find it by heading to the Peel Metro Station – the nearest metro stop. Then, you only need to walk for quick 4 minutes.
