The Story Behind the Miniatures

Founded in 2011, Little Canada emerged from Jean-Louis Brenninkmeijer’s passionate vision to share Canada’s beauty through the art of miniatures. After immigrating to Canada in the 1990s, Jean-Louis was inspired by similar attractions he had experienced in Europe and recognized an opportunity to celebrate his new home in this unique way.

What began as a dream evolved into a beloved Toronto experience that took over ten years of planning, designing, and building before officially opening to the public in August 2021. Today, it continues to grow with new destinations added each year.

Journey Across the Country Under One Roof

From Toronto’s bustling streets to the majestic mountains and forests on the West Coast, from Old Quebec’s historic neighbourhoods to the East Coast’s coastal beauty, Little Canada offers an immersive cross-country journey without leaving the building.

“We are proud to offer newcomers a unique way to experience the entire country in under 2 hours and invite them to connect with our stories, culture, and community.”

– Brad Ford, President & CEO of Little Canada
