History of the Club

TFC has come a long way since its inception. In 2007, they played their first official season as a part of Major League Soccer (MLS). The team’s early years had its ups and downs, but their unwavering support from the fans remained constant. The club’s growth was grew more and more each year, with star players like Sebastian Giovinco and Jozy Altidore leading the way.

TFC’s journey to success culminated in 2017 when they clinched the treble – winning the MLS Cup, the Supporters’ Shield, and the Canadian Championship. This historic achievement showed the club’s determination, skill, and resilience.

This couldn’t have been done with the full commitment of the team and brings truth to the beautiful slogan of the Toronto Football Club – “All for One.”

The Team of Tomorrow

With a focus on youth development, international talent acquisition, community involvement, and a strong commitment to success, TFC is in the perfect spot to continue its legacy as a powerhouse in Canadian and North American soccer.

Joining the club on October 1, 2023 is new Head Coach, John Herdman! Previously the Head Coach of the Canadian Men’s National Team, he will bring his incredible experience in breaking records to lead Toronto FC to new heights. As the team builds on its strong foundation, fans can look forward to more thrilling moments and even more championships.

What does a TFC Game Day look like?

TFC boasts one of the most passionate fan bases in North American soccer. As fans support the Reds, they proudly wear their colours, sing their hearts out, and display unwavering loyalty to the club. The camaraderie among fans transcends boundaries and unites people from all walks of life.

Attending a game will bring you to downtown Toronto in the state-of-the-art facility of BMO Field. This stadium has a seating capacity of around 30,000 for soccer matches. You’ll even have the chance to see the TFC mascot, which is a live hawk on the field!
