Kikomun Creek Park

Located in a dry and sunny area of the province, this park preserves an example of interior Douglas fir and Ponderosa pine forest and grassland habitat. Paved roads within this family oriented park are conducive to biking.

Visitors are asked to only enjoy viewing the painted turtles. Because the survival rate of these turtles is low, it is crucial that they be protected in the park and treated with respect by visitors. It is an offence to disturb, abuse, or remove turtles from the park.
Special instructions
New research at Kikomun Creek Park starting soon
Starting on June 12 or 13, through to approximately June 20, contractors from Tannas Conservation Services & Palouse Rangeland Consulting will be installing 8 research sites throughout Kikomun Creek Park supporting a project to monitor the impact and interactions of prescribed burning and herbicide application on invasive species in the park. These research sites will be in place for several years and will include minimal research infrastructure (metal pegs and pins) that may be visible to park visitors. The intent of the project is to determine the best possible management of invasive species while supporting ecosystem restoration actions. There will be signage indicating the location of the research sites. Please DO NOT DISTURB these sites.

Picnic shelter at Ponderosa/ Northpool group site not available
The picnic shelter at the Ponderosa/ Northpool group site will not be available for use during the 2024 camping season.
The aging shelter will be removed in the spring of 2024 and will be replaced for the 2025 camping season.
The group site will still be open for camping reservations; however, no picnic shelter will be available.

South Pool group site is temporarily closed
The South Pool group site has been temporarily closed due to reports of an aggressive grouse in the area.
For public safety and protection of conservation values, please avoid the area and ensure dogs are on leash at all times while in the park.
