Where did it All Begin?

Back in 1964, the very first Tim Horton’s store opened its doors in Hamilton, Ontario. From that moment on, Canadians have fallen in love with their iconic Original Blend coffee, Double-Doubles and Timbits. At this time, coffee cost 25 cents and doughnuts were only 70 cents for a dozen. The restaurant was started by Tim Horton, a famous hockey player for the Toronto Maple Leafs. It was originally called Tim Horton Donuts. Today, Tim Horton’s is the biggest restaurant chain in Canada.

With 4,000 locations all over the country, Tim Horton’s serves over 5 million cups of coffee to customers daily.

From its humble beginnings as a cozy coffee and doughnut shop, Tim Horton’s has evolved over the years. Initially, when Tim Horton Donuts first launched, it offered just two types of doughnuts: dutchies and apple fritters. But, in 1976, they introduced the Timbit, a bite-sized doughnut quickly becoming a fan favourite. This was followed by the addition of muffins, cookies, and soups to the menu in the 1980s. In 1999, Tim Horton’s started selling the Iced Cappuccino, growing their coffee selection. Today, the restaurant boasts huge breakfast and lunch menus with a variety of sandwiches, drinks, and other delicious options to satisfy every craving.
